TNS host Barry Town on opening weekend

Champions The New Saints embark on their pursuit of an eighth successive Welsh Premier crown when they launch their season at home to Barry Town United on Saturday, August 11.

The following Friday (August 17) there is a mouth watering prospect when Scott Ruscoe's men travel to face one of their chief title rivals Connah's Quay Nomads, who finished third last term.

The reverse fixture between the two rivals takes place on Saturday, October 20.

The Saints tackle Cefn Druids twice within eight days over the festive period, taking on the Ancients at Park Hall on Boxing Day (Wednesday, December 26) before making the short journey to the Rock on New Year's Day.

The league season begins on Friday August 10 with three fixtures - Aberystwyth home to Llandudno, Bala Town welcome Carmarthen Town while Newtown travel to Cardiff Met University.

Newtown take on newcomers Caernarfon Town in their first home fixture of the season at Latham Park on Friday, August 17.

TNS will end phase one with a home encounter against Llanelli on Saturday, January 12, 2019, while Newtown entertain Cefn Druids on the same day.

Fixtures for the second phase of the season will be confirmed after the first phase is completed.

Opening fixtures:

Friday, August 10: Aberystwyth Town v Llandudno, Bala Town v Carmarthen Town, Cardiff Met Uni v Newtown.

Saturday, August 11: The New Saints v Barry Town United.

Sunday August 12: Caernarfon Town v Cefn Druids. Llanelli v Connah's Quay Nomads.

Friday, August 17. Aberystwyth Town v Cardiff Met Uni, Connah's Quay v The New Saints, Newtown v Caernarfon Town.

Saturday, August 18: Carmarthen Town v Llandudno, Cefn Druids v Llanelli.

Sunday, August 19: Barry Town United v Bala Town.
