Although playing a level below the Welsh Premier champions, Cymru Alliance outfit Flint have ambitions of reaching the top flight and will see this as a chance to show their credentials.

With one eye on Saturday’s IRN-BRU Cup tie with Elgin City, TNS boss Scott Ruscoe will ring the changes, allowing some players on the fringes to get more game time.

“We’ve got a busy week, we can’t keep playing the same players all the time, so we will mix it up,” he said. “Flint will be tough, they are a strong, physical side, but we’ve got a strong squad, and it’s a game we want to win as we are the cup holders.”

Newtown are also in in Nathaniel MG Cup action when they entertain Cymru Alliance side Holywell Town tonight.
