It is understood that the boss is set to leave Salop after more than two-and-a-half years at the club by mutual consent.

In a recent poll on the Shropshire Star website, we asked readers if they thought the club were right to part ways with manager Cotterill to which 87 per cent of the 2,100 people who answered said it was the wrong call to make.

The Town boss’s future has been up in the air ever since Brian Caldwell left the club before Town’s penultimate home game of the season, and they announced they were creating a new football board without his knowledge.

He addressed the media after the final game at Lincoln saying he did not know what the future holds for him and it has taken 25 days for the situation to be resolved – which now sees him set to leave Shropshire.
