Ebanks-Landell bundled in a brave equaliser against Sunderland on Tuesday, just his second goal for the club, before Chapman’s rasping volley sealed the comeback win with a fourth goal in four games.

The duo played together as loanees at Sheffield United in the Blades 2016/17 League One campaign and Ebanks-Landell explained how the Blackburn attacker, 23, has matured with age. He said: “It was a great ball from Shaun (Whalley), he’s been superb in everything he does, he doesn’t stop running.

“And Chappy’s in great form at the minute, it was a great finish, he made great contact.

“I was with him at Sheffield United and he was very good there but you can see now, with age, he’s a match-winner.

“I definitely knew what he was capable of, I was really excited when he came, I’ve spoke to him and said ‘keep doing what you’re doing’.

“He’s young with a lot to prove and the world is his oyster at the minute.”

“They (Sunderland) had one in their side (McGeady), who is a very good player, but he’s in this division. To get out of this division you’ve got to prove it’s too easy for you and, if he carries on how he is, he might be able to prove that.”

Prior to his Salop loan, where Chapman already has five starts, the attacker had made just four league starts in his career. Rovers boss Tony Mowbray has previously called into question his desire and application.

Town interim first-team coach David Longwell said: “It’s all about maturing and being in the right environment, maybe this club seems to fit for him just now.

“Sometimes you just need to go and get a freshness somewhere, he’s taking information and stuff on board and is winning us games. I don’t know Harry previously, but Clubs have lots of other players and sometimes, maybe, you don’t get the opportunity for whatever reason.

“Harry needs to play games, Keith (Burt) and the manager identified him as a real talent and he’s getting the rewards from working really hard.

“He’s been a fantastic signing, not just because of his goals, but his quality, whether wide or a ‘10’ he’s such a good player and technician, we can play good football and create more.

“He’s so deceptive when he runs with the ball, there’s so many good things about him.

“He’s putting a lot of work in, he’s there doing extra free-kicks, wanting to get better all the time and is having the impact in matches.”
