Manager Sam Ricketts and his new first team coaches Danny Coyne and Eric Ramsay faced burning questions from fans at a full Sovereign Lounge.

Ricketts, who leads Town into his first home league game tomorrow against Peterborough, made no secret of his lofty ambitions to lift Shrewsbury from their current 17th position into the higher reaches of League One.

"Success is never a straight line curve. I want to be better month after month," said Ricketts to the watching fans.

"We should be pushing to achieve something very special.

"I don't do anything to be mediocre or mid-table. I want to be good, very good."

Ricketts spoke about his conversations with former Town favourite Dave Edwards over the years, where they discussed how Ricketts aims to one day manager Shrewsbury.

But he said, 'unfortunately', that Edwards will not be returning to the Meadow in the foreseeable future.

The event, hosted by the club's Supporters' Parliament and conducted by Radio Shropshire's Stuart Dunn, was watched by more than 100 supporters.

The new Town boss, who has almost been at the club two weeks since his appointment from Wrexham, also confirmed he had received an approach from Shrewsbury while a Telford player in 2004.

But he said he committed himself to the Bucks out of loyalty to then Telford manager Mick Jones.
