Former goalkeeper coach Coyne and academy manager Ramsay shone as Town interim bosses between the sacking of John Askey and Ricketts' appointment.

Ricketts – who knew Coyne from the Wales international side and Ramsay from FA Wales – has kept the pair in and around the first-team set-up to help with a seamless transition at Sundorne Castle.

The boss said: "Danny and Eric have done a great job at the club before I came in. One of the plusses for me was how well they'd done.

"I'm fortunate to know them before I came in, we've tried to continue what they've started and put more layers on it.

"I want to keep working with Eric and Danny closer, keep progressing and improving.

"The players were receptive of them because they were good at their job, is the way I look at it, good people who are good at their job.

"That's what I like, good personalities in players and staff as well. Staff who want to be successful and who will go above and beyond for the club to be successful.

"An awful lot of what the staff do goes unnoticed and it's not just them, an awful lot under those. Without them the club wouldn't be where it is now."
