Manchester City youngsters join Shrewsbury Town, Tranmere and Crewe in Checkatrade Trophy group
Shrewsbury Town will face Manchester City's under-21s, Tranmere Rovers and Crewe Alexandra in the 2018/19 Checkatrade Trophy group stage.
Town's Northern Group D was completed today after the Premier League side's academy made up the already-determined trio of Shrews, Micky Mellon's Rovers and the Railwaymen.
Town will be eyeing another run in the competition that earned them the first of two Wembley trips last term.
The City youngsters finished fourth in their Under-21 Premier League Division 1 campaign last season.
League Two new boys Tranmere and Crewe will also fight for the top two spots.
All EFL clubs in the competition will play at least two home games in the three-game group stage.
