Shrewsbury to wear 2018/19 home kit in play-off final at Wembley

Shrewsbury Town will be wearing next season’s new home Errea kit for this Sunday’s League One play-off final at Wembley Stadium.

The new kit sees a couple of small changes to the existing home top with a return to the classic blue and amber stripes that Town have worn throughout the club’s history.

Rather than just having stripes on the bottom half of the front of the shirt, they have also been added to the top half too. The existing home kit has been a big hit with supporters which has meant that the club shop stock has near enough sold out.

The club held dialogue with the EFL and they have given permission for Town to wear the kit in the final on Sunday.

The new kit had been scheduled to launch for the 2018/19 season.

Town chief executive Brian Caldwell is grateful for the work Errea has done to get the kit delivered in time for Wembley.

“With the amount of games the first team have played over the season it’s meant we didn’t have too many of this season's home kit available," he said.

“We had put our order in with Errea at the end of last year and this was scheduled to be delivered by the end of May.

“Errea have managed to deliver some of that order early which means we can now wear the new kit on Sunday at Wembley.

“I’m sure the supporters will be happy with the design and a return to more stripes, and let’s hope it will turn out to be a lucky kit.”

It is hoped a small number of the new 2018/19 home shirts will go on sale from the club shop on Saturday.
