The defender, formerly of Rotherham, will lead Paul Hurst’s side out at the national stadium for a second time in two months on Sunday.

The club want as many supporters as possible to back Shrewsbury in their odds-defying season, which has taken them to a winner-takes-all shootout with the Millers for a place in the Championship.

The 33-year-old said: “I urge as many as possible to come and support as it will make a massive difference.

“The town will be massively behind us and many times this season have helped us get us over the line.”

The former Birmingham City man, who has held a strong affinity with the area in his time in Shropshire, has sensed a change in support under Hurst’s reign.

“In the last 18 months since the manager has come in there’s been a real change,” he added.

“I don’t know if way we’ve made the town proud with how we’ve played but there’s been a real coming together with the place, people and players. There’s a real buzz in the community.

“There’s not a lot around Shrewsbury, about 35 or 40 miles until the next big town. If you’re a Shrewsbury person or fan you know about club.

“That’s brilliant for us. Sunday is a long journey, a lot of money and we went recently, but we want as many people to come as possible.”
