James Bolton and Ben Godfrey face a race against time to be fit for Shrewsbury’s Wembley showpiece against Lincoln City.

Right-back Bolton has been out with ankle ligament damage since the win at Charlton a month ago.

On-loan Norwich midfielder Godfrey (hamstring) limped out of last weekend’s win at Scunthorpe.

Paul Hurst’s side head to the national stadium in just over two weeks (April 8) for their Checkatrade Trophy final against the Imps.

“Friday (March 30 at Rochdale) is probably a push for Ben and after that I’m not too sure,” Hurst said.

“It depends on the work he undertakes and whether there’s a reaction.

“What I’m happy to say at this time is that him and James Bolton are certainly not definite for Wembley.

“We’re hopeful but there’s nothing certain. We’ve got a couple of games before that and I’d certainly like him involved in one of those.”

Town are also without Dean Henderson, who is in England under-21 action against Romania tomorrow, as well as the suspended Abu Ogogo for tomorrow’s clash with AFC Wimbledon.

Hurst added: “It feels like a few things are going against us. It will be someone else’s turn to step up.

“We’ve got the games over Easter which is often a time when you consider more changes.”
