Paul Hurst has no hard feelings after missing out on signing Sullay Kaikai – and is aware of the winger’s talents as Town head to Charlton tomorrow.

Shrewsbury approached Crystal Palace last month to bring Kaikai, 22, back to the Meadow on loan, but the attacker opted to stay in the capital.

Kaikai netted 12 goals in 30 games for Town two seasons ago.

“He’s got ability one-v-one and scored a lot of goals here,” said Hurst. “We’re fully aware of his ability. He’s played in a couple of roles there. It’s a little side-story. We’re hoping he’ll be quiet but he’s got that ability to make something happen out of nothing.

“You hope not (it won’t bite you on the backside) but the club was never going to move to London. It’s not like he was joining a team in a lower league or a small club. Charlton are a big club in this league.

“It’s understandable and there are no hard feelings towards the player.”
