Town will take on either Yeovil Town or Fleetwood Town – the final quarter-final tie to be played – for a place in the final at Wembley.

The other last-four clash sees Chelsea Under-23s go to League Two outfit Lincoln City.

Hurst’s men have already knocked out Blackpool and Oldham Athletic at Montgomery Waters Meadow in the last two rounds.

And while expecting a tough clash against either Yeovil or Fleetwood, who meet on February 6, the Meadow boss hopes home advantage can prove crucial.

“It’s good to have been drawn at home in the semi-final of the Checkatrade Trophy,” said Hurst.

“At this stage of the competition all sides will prove to be tough opposition so any advantage is welcome.

“Both Yeovil and Fleetwood have shown over the competition that they want go as far as they can.

“It is a competition we have said all along that we want to win, that is still the aim and we are getting closer to a possible Wembley final.

“With the game scheduled for the end of February we can put it to the back of our minds and concentrate on some very important league games, starting with Portsmouth tomorrow.”

The match will take place on Tuesday, February 27 with a 7.45pm kick-off and will be shown live on Sky Sports.

Town progressed through a group containing Coventry, Walsall and West Brom Under-23s before winning at Port Vale when the knockout stages got under way.

They got past Blackpool on penalties and saw off Oldham on Tuesday thanks to a late winner from substitute Alex Rodman.
