Carlton Morris insisted he is unfazed by the calibre of defender he lines up against as the striker continues to impress.

The 22-year-old was given the nod to start against Premier League West Ham United in the FA Cup third round.

Morris, on loan from Norwich, was a handful for experienced top flight defenders including Winston Reid and Angelo Ogbonna.

He has six goals for Paul Hurst's side this term but was unable to trouble returning Shrews favourite Joe Hart as Town secured a third round replay at the London Stadium with a goalless draw.

I go out there and do my thing whoever i'm playing against," says Morris. "It was the same in pre-season when we played them Championship games, playing against John Terry - it doesn't matter to me.

"I just go out there and work my hardest and try and bring players into the game and hopefully make chances for myself."

Morris started over 10-goal top scorer Stefan Payne.

He emphasised the level of spirit and togetherness in the Town camp and the camaraderie in Hurst's ranks acted as a leveller on the day.

Said the front man: "It was a good, enjoyable game, you know it was on the telly and the place was buzzing - we put in a decent performance overall I think.

"In my opinion we should have gone and won the game but that's football, it doesn't happen for you sometimes.

"Everyone knows about the camaraderie we've got in the changing room , we've got a good, strong squad.

"There's a lot of names and a lot of faces [in the Hammers' squad], but at the end of the day they're human beings out there on the football pitch and that's how we treat them. We get up on them, rattle them the whole game."
