Former top flight outfit and 2008 FA Cup champions Portsmouth have found their feet in League One under Kenny Jackett and have won seven of their last eight fixtures.

Last season’s League Two champions head to Montgomery Waters Meadow sitting outside the play-off positions on goals scored.

Sadler explained how the task for Paul Hurst’s men is to show why they are sitting second in the standings in front of more than 1,000 visiting Pompey fans.

“Portsmouth are seventh and their manager will be going great guns to try and extend the good run they’re on at the moment,” said Town’s centre-half.

“They have a good balanced side and they’ll cause many problems.

“But we’re a good team as well so there’s nothing that we fear about playing Portsmouth, for sure.

“We don’t go into it feeling inferior or concerned. We feel we’re in the position we’re in on merit – because we’ve got good players.

“But it’s up to us to prove that again and again and again.”

After a recent run of one league win in five Sadler said the motivation is still there to show that Town will not fall away from the top.

He added: “When there have been those small elements of doubt that have crept in over the four or five games, it’s about putting that to bed and starting a whole other chapter of proving people wrong.”
