Three of Town's five loanees – Dean Henderson, Carlton Morris and Niall Ennis – are on season-long deals at Montgomery Waters Meadow.

Though, as with season-long loan deals, a clause allows parent clubs the option to recall those players in January.

Manchester United goalkeeper Henderson is still to decide on his long-term future with his Old Trafford contract up at the end of the season.

While Morris, who has six goals for Town, could be required at Norwich should the Canaries need extra reinforcements in their attacking ranks.

Wolves starlet Ennis, who has been injured since the opening week of the campaign, is likely to have his fitness assessed in the new year before a decision is made on his loan.

Boss Paul Hurst recently said Ennis' recovery was going well.

Town's two other loanees, Norwich midfield pair Ben Godfrey and Ebou Adams, see their loan deals finish in January.

Godfrey has played a major role in Shrewsbury's success this term and Hurst is expected to be keen on extending the move. But as with Morris, it could rely on Norwich's availability.

Adams has been on the fringes and mainly utilised in Cup competitions.

Boss Hurst is planning for eventualities both in the permanent and loan market ahead of January 1, in case some of his first-team regulars are recalled by their parent clubs.

Chief executive Brian Caldwell told ShrewsWeb: “We’ve got to be aware of what could potentially happen in January because we’ve got some loans that potentially could be recalled at any time.

"But we are hopeful that we can keep the squad together and we can continue the good form we’ve had in the last 15 or 16 games.”
