The 20-year-old was down the pecking order at Salop following the arrivals of Craig MacGillivray and Dean Henderson, and joins Hull for an undisclosed fee.

The stopper has been given a one-year deal at the KC Stadium, with an option of a further year and will join the U23 set-up.

The Newport-born keeper spent several spells on-loan from Salop last season, and only made his first-team debut at the Montgomery Waters Meadow at the end of the 2015/16 season.

The future of fellow shot-stopper Jayson Leutwiler, Town’s No.1 for the three previous seasons, is also unclear.

Hurst has admitted it will be difficult for the Canadian, who has been away playing in the Gold Cup, to force his way into the first-team plans.
