The 18-year-old becomes Paul Hurst's fifth loan signing of the summer, with five loan players permitted in a match-day squad.

Ennis, a centre-forward, adds extra depth to Town's forward line, with Lenell John-Lewis, Carlton Morris, youngster John McAtee and out-of-favour AJ Leitch-Smith among the ranks.

He won't be feature against AFC Telford but may make his Shrewsbury bow against Burton on Saturday.

Ennis has been on the fringe of the first team picture at Molineux for the past 12 months and Wolves are keen for him to get regular football.

The Wolverhampton-born striker's progress was hampered last season after breaking his ankle in training just as he was set for a debut under Paul Lambert.

He had starred in pre-season a year ago when netting two goals for Kenny Jackett's team against Cork City and Northampton Town.

The England under-18 international would add as another striking option for Paul Hurst's Town.

The boss admitted he would ideally take another centre-forward, and that the option he was looking at would again fit in the 'young' category.
