Brazil Under-17s will face their counterparts from England, Russia and the USA.

They trained at Ellesmere Rangers and the gates were opened to allow locals to go and watch the youngsters show off their skills.

Their opening game is against Russia at Nantwich Town tonight.

Brazil face USA at the same venue on Sunday before finishing against England at the New Bucks Head on Tuesday night.

Shropshire has also been a base for the Russia side, who have been training at Butler Sports Centre, the home of Wem Town. Russia take on England at Shrewsbury’s Montgomery Waters Meadow on Sunday (1pm).

England, under the management of Steve Cooper, begin with a game against the USA tonight at the Swansway Chester Stadium.

Cooper led England to Under-17s World Cup glory in India last year and he’s now hoping the next generation can continue to keep the football feel-good factor going across the country.

“This tournament will be the first time this squad has played in stadiums for England and it’s a great opportunity for them to get the experience of playing in front of crowds,” said Cooper.

“It’s extra special for them as we’re playing these games in England, with home support.”
