Gavin Cowan: Happy to see Telford still in the hat

Gavin Cowan is just happy to be in the draw for the second round of the FA Trophy after his Bucks were pushed all the way by Northern Premier League side Farsley Celtic.

The Bucks took the lead in the game, before being pegged back just before the break.

Then a mad last half hour saw five goals, three of them for the Bucks as they they tried to pull away from the plucky visitors who kept themselves in the game until late on.

After Ryan Barnett and Jon Royle had given the hosts a 3-1 lead, Jack Dyche pulled one back.

Henry Cowans looked to have settled the game eight minutes from time, but Dyche headed home again to set up a nervy finish.

Manager Cowan was frustrated with aspects of the game against the in form visitors, but was just happy to be celebrating a victory.

He said: "I'm over the moon. To be honest the last two weeks we have come off the back of two losses, whereas today it hasn't been the prettiest of performances but we won the game.

"I feel for Farsley, at times they were like a knife though butter through us which is a bit uncharacteristic of us, but we've won the game.

"The in game management is frustrating, I won't talk about what has just been said.

"We can take positives and we can learn from them in the week.

"It is frustrating as staff as there are things we worked on all week to bring success.

"When they did those things, they got success, but when the played on their own agenda it didn't and they've got to trust the process."

In the week Cowan called for his forward players to be more clinical and start creating chances.

They certainly got the message, and the Bucks boss was pleased to see his troops piling forward and getting into dangerous areas.

He added: "We played some great football at times today, and we have done in the past two weeks.

"In mid phase open play we are very good and we can dominate teams.

"It was nice today to see us get four goals, that was a conscious effort from us to commit numbers forward and gamble on things.

"When you do you score more goals so that was pleasing to see.

"We will take the positives from the game. It gets us back on it and sets us up nicely for Chester next week now."
