AFC Telford's Brendon Daniels looking to catch the eye

AFC Telford United boss Gavin Cowan hopes on-loan winger Brendon Daniels can show what he is about at old club Altrincham tomorrow.

The 25-year-old has joined the Bucks for a month from Port Vale, where his deal is due to expire in the new year.

Daniels, who had a spell on loan with the Robins earlier this campaign, is keen to impress and earn a Vale extension – and Cowan says it is a ‘no-lose’ situation after seeing him shine for Harrogate Town, AFC Fylde and Alfreton Town in non-league over the past few years.

“It’s a no-lose situation for us. He comes in, we have him for a period of time, and if he performs like we know he can, we’re in for a real player on our hands,” said Cowan.

“We’re hoping he can add something to the group. He knows what’s in front of him.

“It was good to get him some minutes (off the bench against Bradford Park Avenue last weekend).

“He’s starting to understand our philosophy so it’s good to have him on board.”

Telford go into the clash fifth in National League North, while Altrincham are fourth – both teams upsetting the odds so far.

The Bucks suffered their first home loss of the season last weekend, but Cowan is feeling positive ahead of the trip to Moss Lane.

“It’s going to be a very tough game for us,” added Cowan.

“They’re probably the form team in the league – after our loss to Bradford last weekend.

“They’re going well, like us. Going back to last weekend, I didn’t think it was unacceptable.

“We just didn’t have those standards in front of goal.

“The performance was pretty good, but it was a seven out of 10.

“We’re used to being at eight or nine out of 10, so we want to get back to that at Altrincham.

“The task for the lads is to find that final part.”
