Bernard McNally: AFC Telford can turn table on Magpies

I’m sure Gavin Cowan and the whole of AFC Telford will have been disappointed to bow out of the FA Cup at Warrington Town.

We all like to be on the crest of a wave, with pats on the back when things are going well, but football doesn’t always stay like that. There are high points and usually more low points!

But the Bucks have started well. As disappointing it was, it’s by the by, now they’ll want to get back to winning ways in the National League North and progress.

Chorley’s visit is a massive test on Saturday. Historically they’re a tough, physical side.

It’ll be a tough ask for Gavin’s Bucks against the unbeaten Magpies.

I’d be saying to the players ‘we know this is tough, we’re expected to lose this at home, there is no reason why we can’t upset them’.

We had a cup upset on us, why can’t we turn the tables in the league? Let’s be the first team to go and beat this side.
