AFC Telford set for crunch talks on future plans

AFC Telford United are poised to make a final decision this week over whether to go full-time.

New boss Gavin Cowan has sought talks with chairman Andy Pryce over the proposal which would see the Bucks, who have operated on a semi-professional level in recent years, become a fully professional outfit.

Pryce has previously claimed going full-time would give Telford the best chance of challenging in the increasingly competitive National League North. Cowan, who succeeded Rob Edwards as manager earlier this month, is thought to favour an option ‘somewhere in the middle’ and was set to put his proposal to Pryce last week.

The new boss has been busy contacting players as he begins to build a squad for next season. Wolves winger Ryan Giles, who starred on loan at Telford toward the end of the season, has been offered a new deal at Molineux.
