The winning goal came as early as the 12th minute, as Marcus Dinanga was back among the goals as he lashed home from 18 yards.

Telford were good value for their victory, had a grip of the game and showed more fight than their Derbyshire hosts.

Edwards heaped praise on his troops for their '100 per cent performance', and asked them to produce that ten more times in the season run in.

Edwards said: "I made it simple for the players, I wanted to see 100 per cent commitment and to fight for the club and for themselves as well.

"That is all we are going to be doing from here on in and we certainly showed that.

"We concentrated on ourselves and when we perform like that we will create chances and we did tonight, and defended our own box really well.

"It will do a lot for confidence and we will have to build on that result now. It isn't just the result, the performance breeds confidence and that level needs to be sustained now.

"We've talked about consistency not just throughout the season but in games, and we got a real consistent performance tonight, with some outstanding individual performance as well.

"We have ten games to go now, and we will keep fighting, we are completely with it and the players are up for the challenge."

Dinanga grabbed the headlines but a number of Bucks players were singled out for praise.

Shane Sutton and Dom Smith dealt with almost everything thrown at them, with Ellis Deeney and Henry Cowans in front of them producing top drawer performances.

Edwards added: "I was delighted with the two centre halves, they headed everything in the second half, and Deeney and Henry Cowans down the spine were terrific, they were aggressive and showed quality too.

"We got the early goal which is great, but you fear the worst, but we worked so hard to keep the ball out of our net, and were a threat going forward."

A group of die hard Telford fans made the trip to the Impact Arena, and the Bucks boss was quick to praise the contribution they had in the win.

He added: "You saw we are fighting, they were chanting and singing, and they saw the players work rate and desire for the club.

"All we are asking is to show fight, compete, be aggressive, and I can't speak highly enough of them."
