AFC Telford United have confirmed the departure of left-back Curtis Strong after less than five months with the club.

The 21-year-old Stoke City academy product made seven appearances for the Bucks after joining in May but has recently struggled for regular game time.

Strong had not been named in a starting XI since the 3-2 home defeat to Blyth Spartans on September 2 and did not feature in the squad for last weekend’s loss at Chorley. Bucks boss Rob Edwards has now allowed him to depart in order to seek regular football elsewhere.

Telford confirmed his exit on social media with a message which read: “Everyone at AFC Telford United would like to wish Curtis all the very best as he departs the club to play regular football.”

Strong was one of several summer signings made by former Bucks boss Rob Smith before he was replaced by Edwards in June.

The former Tamworth defender had spent the best part of a year on the sidelines with a severe knee injury.
