Rob Edwards is buoyed by AFC Telford's start

AFC Telford United boss Rob Edwards is happy with how his charges have fared so far in National League North, declaring: “I would say that it has been positive.”

The Bucks, who made Edwards their manager during the summer and assembled an almost entirely new squad, have played 11 league games – winning five and losing six.

Their last league outing was a 3-2 victory against Stockport County – their first triumph at the New Bucks Head following five successive losses there.

It is often said bosses can get a real idea of how good their side is, and where they may end up, after 10 to 12 league games.

And Edwards said: “Obviously we have been up and down but in almost every game we have had very good periods.

“The lads have won 50 per cent of their games so if they can continue that and keep up that ratio over their careers, they’ll have good careers.”

Telford are 13th in the table – three points off the play-offs

“We have let ourselves down once or twice – not in full games, but in periods of games,” Edwards added.

“I would say that it has been positive.

“We are three points off the play-offs, in the middle of the table, and in the next round of the FA Cup – there are positives there.”
