Former Bucks skipper Rea missed the 3-1 defeat to Brackley Town on Tuesday night because of a knock to his knee while Barnes-Homer hurt his thigh in that game.

Boss Rob Edwards has been keeping a close eye on the duo and said: “Barnesy is struggling a bit with his quad.

“He played the full 90 minutes on Tuesday but said that he felt it during the game.

“Jack was his knee. He missed the game Tuesday so he is a doubt, but we are hoping he might be OK.”

A crowd of towards 2,000 is expected for the clash against Class of ‘92-owned Salford – the National League North title favourites.

Set to be in attendance is former Manchester United and England full-back Gary Neville, who is one of the Ammies’ joint-owners.

“They have got a formidable squad, they have a lot of quality players,” said Edwards.

“We have got to try to make it extremely uncomfortable for them, try to stop them from playing.

“We have got to bounce back from losing a game as well

“Teams that do well do not tend to lose two games in a row that much, that is something we have spoke to the players about.

“We are going to work really hard to get a result.”

Edwards, from Madeley, has urged his players to give the Telford supporters, who have endured relegation battles over the last couple of years, something to shout about.

He added: “It would be great to have a big crowd. The fans were really getting behind the players on Tuesday, especially in the second half, and the players seemed to feed off that.

“The players need that, for the fans to back them, but it is a two-way thing – they need to be giving the fans something to feed off.

“We are looking to provide excitement for the supporters.

“We are a work in progress, with a new team, but so are Salford – they have brought in a lot of new players – and a lot of other teams at this level.

“I hope it will be an exciting game.”
