The New Bucks Head chief will use a different side in each half for his debut outing as Bucks boss having taking the reins from Rob Smith and Larry Chambers last week.

The former Wolves coach led training this week with 27 players – including trialists – involved, though Edwards added that many of those were pre-arranged trialists who had agreed to attend under the previous regime.

And the boss has been going through a process of whittling down the numbers for the fixture at Wellington Amateurs tomorrow, though he will still use a healthy numbers of players.

Forward Daniel Westwood is one of a crop that have been told they are free to seek a move away.

"It's up to me before the Haughmond game to have a look at things," said Edwards. "It's too big a number going into a match.

"I want to look at two teams. There will be two teams for two 45 minutes. So we do need a big number but not that many.

"We look at where we're at with the squad and have a look during tomorrow's game.

"I'll then have more of an idea where we need to improve."

Interim chairman Andy Pryce announced at Tuesday's fans' forum that Edwards was taking a look at a couple of exciting signings as the club trained at Wolves' training ground at Compton.

But the boss revealed talk of finalising signings was premature but Telford are pressing on in their hunt to add more quality to the group that have largely impressed Edwards.

The Telford manager added: "I've been excited by the players I've inherited. There's a really good core of players that we can base a lot around.

"I'm looking forward to working with them and then trying to supplement that with one or two that I think can improve us again.

"No-one will be coming in if I don't think they'll be making us any better and they'll have to be good players because the players here at the moment have been really impressive.

"They've had a great attitude and I've been particularly pleased with their tactical understanding and technical ability."
