AFC Telford to seal double swoop

AFC Telford United boss Andy Sinton will tonight make it three signings in the space of two days as the Bucks move closer to finalising their squad for the big kick-off.

Sinton has agreed deals with former Port Vale goalkeeper Chris Martin and winger Jon Brown, who spent the end of last season with Telford on loan from Southport, and the pair will sign registration forms this evening.

The pair follow former Tamworth forward Kieron St Aime, who signed on Tuesday, into the club.

Martin has started 85 games during a five-year stint with Vale while his fellow 22-year-old Brown has agreed to make his temporary move from last season a permanent one after leaving Spouthport.

"I will be delighted to get both lads on board," said Sinton. "Chris trained with us at the start of pre-season and it means we have two very good goalkeepers.

"Ryan Young had a fantastic season last year. The gauntlet has been thrown down to him to do as well as he did and the gauntlet has been thrown down to Chris to try and dislodge and replace Ryan.

"We want competition and that's what we have got there. Jon played a part in helping us consolidate last year. He will run through brick walls for you and it epitomised the attitude the club wants."
