Joe Clarke linked with Notts move
Former Shropshire cricketer Joe Clarke is being linked with a move from Worcestershire to Nottinghamshire.
Clarke, who has played for Oswestry and Wellington in the Birmingham League, is out of contract at New Road at the end of 2018.
The 21-year-old hit his first century of the season this week in the Pears’ Division Two Championship clash with Kent.
But, having also played as wicketkeeper until joining Worcester, it is understood Clarke has become frustrated with his progress being blocked by Ben Cox and may feel the need to look elsewhere for an opportunity.
Nottinghamshire wicketkeeper Chris Read has already announced his decision to retire in September and the Trent Bridge club may come calling for Clarke.
