The Worfield second XI skipper hit a mammoth 273 not out for his side in their Henshalls Insurance Shropshire County Cricket League victory at Cound.

His score beat the previous highest individual score – his unbeaten 264 against Knockin & Kinnerley. Before that the record was 235 by Avi Mathur of Church Aston against Wroxeter Grove 3rd XI in August, 2015.

Batting at three, Fox-Davies went on the attack after coming in early on and declared on 418-3 dec off 36 overs. Worfield went on to win by a whopping 305 runs.

Fox Davies, who is in his second season with Worfield seconds but his first as captain, has helped his side to storm 30 points clear at the top of the second XI Division One table.

And it marked a good weekend for the club with the first XI defeating Ludlow in the Premier League.
