Fynn took his league run tally for the summer to 474 with an undefeated 79 to fire his side to a fifth straight victory courtesy of a resounding 10-wicket success at Old Hill.

The opener’s latest masterclass followed scores of 107, 132, 74 and 82 in his first four outings.

Joe Carrasco was 73 not out at the other end as Oswestry chased down their hosts’ total of 171 inside 28 overs.

Old Hill had opted to bat first but lost wickets at regular intervals as they were reduced to 107-7.

They managed to rally past the 150-mark thanks to a 42-run 10th wicket stand between Nigel Davenport (44) and Aamir Manzoor (25).

Ravi Nagra had earlier struck 42 while Charlie Morris led an impressive display with the ball for Oswestry with 4-34. Ian Davies provided support with 3-32.

The victory leaves Oswestry as the only side in the division with a 100 per cent record after Fordhouses crashed to defeat at C&R Hawks.

Newport are setting the pace in Division Three after reeling off their fourth win in five outings.

Jamie Prew led the way with a century as Newport beat Worcester Nomads by 22 runs.

A superb second-wicket stand of 160 between Prew (103) and Maisam Hasnain (85) took Newport to 260-4.

Nomads gave the chase a good go with ppener Guy Davies hitting 78 and Ben Schiffman 54 not out, but Mark Downes checked their efforts with 3-48 as they finished on 238-9.

Sentinel slipped down to sixth, but just 11 points off the leaders, following defeat at Lichfield.

Malcolm Serplet made 54 and Alex Johns 28 as Sentinel were dismissed for 166 – a total boosted by 31 extras.

Lichfield then eased home for the loss of three wickets.
