Revenge was sweet for Glyn Picknell’s men, who lost out by just nine points on aggregate seven days prior.

The Telford club are now fifth with 58 points, but remain just six points clear of Penn, who are bottom.

The jump to West Brom FSC, in fourth, is also six points

“They were pretty pleased,” said club representative Tony Rhodes. “It has taken them from the bottom and they’re pretty confident of not being relegated.

“A 6-2 (points) in this league is a good win. Glyn was chuffed. He got beat 18 in his so was a little disappointed but they’re all good sides in this division.”

The division’s bottom club come the end of the season will face off in a play-off game against the victors of the top sides from feeder leagues A and B.

Michael Wainwright was MVP for St Georges with a 21-10 win over Gary Cooper.

Peter Grimston, Colin Beaman, Nigel Evans, Ian Gaut and Lewis Scott also tasted victory in the handsome win.

They travel to Edgbaston in Birmingham next week for a tough clash on the road against third-placed King George V.

Castlefields, who climbed from the bottom spot last week, picked up four crucial points in their fight with the drop in a 6-4 reversal at high-flying Dudley Dell.

Mark Taylor, Mike Beer, Keith Walton and Paul Williams (MVP) winnings ends helped the Shrewsbury side keep them off bottom.

In Feeder A, Wrockwardine Wood suffered a 9-1 defeat on the road at Windmill. Wood had enjoyed an 8-2 home success seven days earlier.

Hadley United Services took a handy three points from a trip to Woofield A in Feeder B.
