Step 5/6 round-up: FA Vase victory
Whitchurch Alport booked their place in the FA Vase quarter-finals with a comeback win over North Shields.
Their Midland League Premier Division derby against Shifnal Town was postponed for the cup competition and the Shropshire side took full advantage by taking another step closer to a dream final at Wembley.
After going 1-0 down, Callum Knowles dragged Whitchurch level before Harry Bower's stunner won it.
The quarter-final draw will take place on Monday, with Whitchurch ball number one.
In the Midland League Division One, AFC Bridgnorth won 2-1 at Stapenhill, while there was controversy in the North West Counties League Division One South as Market Drayton Town lost 3-1 at home to Eccleshall.
Declan Arber gave the Shropshire hosts the lead before Liam Hallam struck to equalise for Eccleshall.
In the 78th minute play was stopped for some time due to a shoulder injury to a Drayton player, who was eventually stretchered off the pitch.
Once play restarted, Eccleshall scored in the 96th minute but in controversial circumstances, as Macauley Taylor gave them the lead.
In their match updates, the Drayton social media account said: "Absolutely ridiculous, a blatant offside which wasn’t given, referee gave the offside decision initially but the liner decided it was onside and the goal was given."
Kieran Lazenby then scored a third in the 119th minute as Eccleshall took all three points.
Elsewhere in the league, Shawbury United remain rooted at the foot of the table after a 1-0 loss to Stockport Georgians.
Allscott Heath won, however, beating Foley Meir 1-0 with a 43rd minute penalty from Carl Rogers.
In the Hellenic League Division One, Ludlow Town enjoyed a comfortable 6-1 win at Southam United.
A hat-trick from Ryan Clarke and strikes from Ryan Lewis, Connor Davies-Austin and Kieran Dovey secured the impressive victory.
In the West Midlands League Premier Division, Telford Town remain top of the division despite having game against Stourport Swifts Development postponed.
They sit 12 points clear, but have played two games more than nearest rivals FC Darlaston.
