I think Gareth Ainsworth will be really understanding the challenge he has at Shrewsbury now and what he must overcome.

It was an extremely tough weekend for Town. The numbers make for very difficult reading - bottom of the table with just 11 points from 18 games and eight points from safety, having conceded the most goals with the next game against top of the league!

It's difficult at the moment. There are various things that are not quite happening, the main issue being defending and an inability to keep clean sheets.

Another thing is having players in there to take responsibility to drag Town out of this.

I just hope with Wycombe coming to town on Saturday, with all the emotion around it, Gareth Ainsworth's old club, Dan Udoh coming back, facing the top team, you hope that can raise a performance from the Shrewsbury lads. It happened against Birmingham and it has happened in the past.

Hopefully we see the Meadow bouncing. It needs something. As much as this is a project under Gareth Ainsworth and everyone feels it is the right appointment, there is some more optimism in the air, the club are going to have to start picking up points otherwise the long-standing relationship with League One is looking pretty perilous.
