Gareth Ainsworth fell to his first defeat as Shrewsbury Town boss as Blackpool came from behind, in five second-half minutes, to win 2-1 at the Croud Meadow.
Our Salop correspondent Ollie Westbury has rated the Town players on a difficult night in Shropshire.
Toby Savin
It was a very difficult night for keepers given the conditions with both Savin and Harry Tyrer, who was in goal for Blackpool, struggling.
Tough: 5
Luca Hoole
A mixed evening for Hoole. Some good and some not-so-good from the Shrewsbury defender on a challenging night for him and his team-mates.
Mixed: 6
Toto Nsiala
He was robbed of the ball on the edge of his box for the first goal and beaten in the air by Ashley Fletcher for the second.
Costly: 4
Aaron Pierre
Did not get his feet sorted in time when James Husband fizzed the ball across the Town goal and turned it into his net. Picked up a booking and is now suspended.
Suspended: 4
Mal Benning
He was just as surprised as anyone in the stadium when his free-kick from inside his own half bounced into the net. Struggled to get things going on the left.
Tried: 5
Carl Winchester
Made a couple of important tackles and challenges and he gave everything as normal, but he was unable to get Shrews on the front foot after they went behind.
OK: 6
Taylor Perry
Arguably Town's best player on the night. In the second half when Shrewsbury were below par he showed composure on the ball to find a team-mate.
Steady: 6
Alex Gilliead
Seems to be a lot more suited for the central midfield role Ainsworth is now playing him in. He was steady in this one, and you cannot fault his work rate.
Decent: 6
Leo Castledine
There was a slight formation change for Shrewsbury on the night as Castledine played out on the left of a 4-3-3, but the Chelsea loanee could not impact the game.
Quiet: 5
Tom Bloxham
Town had a bright opening 15 minutes, and a lot of their threat came from Bloxham on the right side. After a bright start, he faded.
Faded: 5
John Marquis
Toiled away on his own all night for Shrewsbury, with balls being difficult to control due to the conditions. Marquis did OK up front on his own.
Toiled: 6
Substitutes
George Lloyd 5 (Castledine 77), Tommi O'Reilly 5 (Bloxham 77), Jordan Shipley n/a (Perry 83).
