What a fantastic day for Wolves which was probably filled with more relief than joy.

To get that elusive first win was huge and with the fixtures coming up you can look at it with a lot more positivity now. In a month's time, the league table could look completely different.

Before kick-off I thought it was a game that was set up for Wolves because of the way Southampton play by trying to keep the ball and they will be open.

With how good Wolves are at winning the ball back and how good they are in transition, I felt they could catch Southampton out in those moments.

I also said the first goal is going to be so key, so to score it so early was amazing for everyone inside the stadium and Gary O'Neil.

It meant Wolves could spend long periods without the ball and there wasn't too much frustration because they had that goal lead.

It was a tremendous goal with Matheus Cunha doing what he does best. It was a great run from Sarabia to finish it off and that set the scene.

We got away with one a little bit with the VAR decision. We've had our fair share of bad decisions and it's about time we got a little bit of luck.

As the first half went on Southampton were dominating the ball and Wolves were just a little bit too passive.
