Midfielder Brad Walker has resumed his loan spell at National League side Wrexham from Shrewsbury Town.

The 24-year-old was one of boss Sam Ricketts’ first signings in a busy January window, penning an 18-month deal from Crewe before being immediately loaned back to the Dragons, where he played under the Town boss.

But he picked up a hamstring injury in the clash against Leyton Orient on March 9 and returned to Sundorne Castle for his rehab.

However, Wrexham have today confirmed he has resumed training with the club, a big boost as they prepare for the final league game at home to Harrogate Town on Saturday and the play-offs.

Just last week boss Bryan Hughes had indicated that Walker was getting close to returning.

"Brad has picked up his rehab at Shrewsbury which is great news for us," said Hughes.

"He is getting put through a bit more intense regime this week I understand so I think this is going to be a critical week for Brad in his rehab, and we will probably know more next week. But fingers crossed we might see him again."
