Bernard McNally: AFC Telford set to finish in cliffhanger

AFC Telford United must throw caution to the wind and really go for it at York.

They need to better Bradford Park Avenue’s result at Chorley.

It’s Gavin Cowan’s and Telford’s cup final, hopefully there can be drama and they can go and pull it off.

It’s a real cliffhanger to finish on after 41 games of National League North football this season.

It would be a big shame if the Bucks sign off having finished outside the top seven, especially with the brilliant cup runs they have had.

Even so, the management can be really pleased with what they have achieved, there are good signs for the club moving forward to next season and beyond – even though they still have a job to finish.

With Gavin signing a contract it shows that the club did not want to lose him and you can see why, he’s done so well.

Let’s keep everything crossed they can get over the line on Saturday.
