Young seamer Tom Weaver is set to make his Shropshire debut in the Minor Counties Championship on Sunday - on his home ground.

Bridgnorth bowler Weaver has been called into the squad for the three-day clash with Dorset a Cricket Meadow, and is set to go straight into skipper Ed Foster's team.

Weaver replaces St Georges quickie Steve Taylor, a Shropshire regular, who is unavailable for this game.

Foster's men will be aiming to build on their fabulous start to the Minor Counties campaign, having beaten Wiltshire away earlier in the month.

"Tom took a hell of a lot of wickets last season and he's done well for the under-21s," said the happy captain.

"He came to the nets and impressed over the winter, and he's done well for Bridgnorth so far this season. Hopefully he can come in and do a job on his home ground.

"We've been looking to get him involved as and when the opportunity arose, and it's just a co-incidence that the game is at Bridgnorth." Weaver is the only change to the side.

Shropshire XI: Ed Foster (captain, Shrewsbury), Alex Huxley (Oswestry), Chris Murtagh (Reigate), Rob Foster (Shrewsbury), Jono Whitney (Bridgnorth), Richard Oliver (Whitchurch), Will Parton (Shrewsbury), Andy Gray (Alvaston & Boulton), Matt Tilt (St Georges), Tom Weaver (Bridgnorth), Dan Bowen (Whitchurch).
