Don’t let greedy few stop you from giving

We’ve heard words about some charities which give less to the needy than we hoped/thought.

Please don’t let it stop you helping others.

There are ways of finding out how much of your gift, financial or gift for sale that actually goes to help others.

Do your research, often by asking people you trust rather than what it says on the bag.

But, please don’t give up. There are ways of keeping the charity local.

There are also ways of keeping help overseas, staying with those who will use it for giving real support, not greasing hands.

I’m afraid some of that does go on, but also there are those whose proper job it is to work really hard to raise the profile of the charity which often costs a lot of money.

Money on cards and photos etc, from the animal you’ve adopted and have been given a stuffed toy to cuddle.

Rather give and not count the cost. This is quite different from adopting a child. Corresponding with that child in their own country is so very valuable; it is a well proven fact.

Perhaps as you treat your own family you could give a little to help another here or abroad.

A little can go a long way and change a life for the better.
