Problems are piling up for Conservatives

Theresa May at last year's Conservative party conference

Following my recent communiques with David Davis (still waiting to hear back from him), Sir Patrick McLoughlin (to be fair he did reply in person), and Andrea Leadsom (still waiting to hear back from her), it is clear that your party is in complete denial of the magnitude of the political self-inflicted gunshot wound that occurred on June 8th.

Indeed, the reply I did receive was that the Conservatives, on June 9, were the largest party after the General Election. What a riposte, and what a denial.

I do not claim to have the answers for you, but two things need to happen.

One, your party needs to find its ears, and two, it has got to realise the magnitude of the problem it faces.

You cannot come up with viable solutions until you recognise that the problem does exist.

You are not doing that at the moment.

I will tell you how bad things are. I wrote to Andrea Leadsom explaining to her that after TSR2 and the Labour government in the 1960s that I would never vote for them at a General Election.

If there is another General Election this year, and I believe this to be likely, I will consider the Corbyn alternative.

That’s how bad your party’s problem is! And if you believe that I am in a minority of one, your problems have just increased.

Mr D N Grant, Ludlow
