Police forces in America are trying to prove they have the best looking cops
There’s a good-natured challenge going on to find the finest, finest.
Police in Philadelphia have said their own officers would also “break the internet” after officers in Florida received a wealth of attention for their good looks.
A selfie shared by Gainesville Police on Facebook taken during Hurricane Irma recovery prompted a lot of attention for the three male officers; John Nordman, Michael Hamill and Dan Rengering.
Now other forces are muscling in, saying their officers are the finest, finest.
In an update, the force said they would be making a charity calendar to help fund Irma relief efforts.
Philadelphia Police is the latest force to have responded saying its city also has good looking officers – but it chose not to add a picture.
“Putting up pictures of our fine-looking officers would only serve to break the internet,” @PhillyPolice wrote. “I’m sorry – we cannot condone destruction of property.”
One Philly Police Lieutenant, Stephen Clark, quickly replied with a throwback picture.
“And posting photos of us in hot cars would absolutely shatter the internet.”
Other forces have also been quick to share photos of their officers.
Knoxville Police Department in Tennessee shared a picture of four male officers on Facebook along with a challenge to their Gainesville colleagues – and those who commented on the original picture.
“We’re confident the volunteers of Tennessee will see that our KPD officers take it to those gators once again!”
