Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn were debating so much about Grenfell that PMQs overran
The tragedy dominated the dicsussion.
The first PMQs since the General Election was always going to be an interesting one, with so much to get through in such a short space of time.
So it was perhaps unsurprising that the usual half hour slot overran by around 20 minutes as Theresa May and Jeremy Corbyn exchanged blows over Grenfell Tower.
He said: “I was simply making the point, which seems to have upset a lot of members opposite, that when you cut local authority budgets by 40% we all pay a price in public safety.”
Austerity must end. #PMQs

Both were accused of “politicising” the tragedy, and it just didn’t sit quite right with some people.

Though others thought it’s a fairly difficult situation to avoid.
