Pair hunted after policeman dragged 40ft by speeding car

A police officer had the soles of his shoes torn off as he was dragged 40ft by a speeding car.

The Metropolitan Police officer was walking towards a car in Southgate, north London, at around 9.45am on Wednesday when it was driven towards him.

He was dragged along and managed to roll free, suffering only minor injuries.

The officer had his cuts and bruises treated at a police station and remained on duty.

A manhunt has been launched for the two men who were in the car, who are wanted on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm.
