Murder victim found on rooftop named by police

Detectives have released a 53-year-old suspect on bail.

Police have named a 40-year-old murder victim whose body was found on a rooftop at the rear of a busy pedestrian shopping precinct.

Officers were called to Palmerston Road, Southsea, Hampshire, at 10.50am on Monday following the discovery at the back of the property.

The victim has been named as Lorraine Bream, of Marmion Road, Southsea.

A Hampshire police spokesman said that a 53-year-old man from Southsea, arrested on suspicion of murder, had been released on bail pending further inquiries until October 14.

He added: “Police are now asking anyone who saw Lorraine in the Palmerston Road area any time after 8pm on Sunday 15 September to get in touch, as this information may be crucial to our investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.”
