Scottish house prices up 3.3% in a year, new figures show
The average property price in March 2019 was £149,461, according to the latest UK House Price Index.
House prices in Scotland have risen by 3.3% year-on-year, according to new figures.
The latest UK House Price Index shows the average property price in March 2019 was £149,461 – a 1.9% increase on the previous month in Scotland.
Midlothian and Perth and Kinross had the largest year-on-year increases, with prices rising by 12.2% and 11.16% respectively.
The largest decreases were in the north-east as prices dropped in both Aberdeen city (7%) and Aberdeenshire (6.1%).
Meanwhile, the UK average price was £226,798 meaning a 1.4% rise on March 2018 but a 0.2% drop from February 2019.
Kenny Crawford, business development director at Registers of Scotland, said: “Average prices in Scotland continued their upward trend in March, having increased each month since April 2016 when compared with the same month of the previous year.”
