A teenager found dead outside a party at a flat on a south-east London estate has been named by police.

Ethan Nedd-Bruce, 18, was found collapsed on the Flamsteed Estate, in Greenwich, with what police initially believed was a stabbing injury but was revealed by a post-mortem examination to be a gunshot wound.

The Metropolitan Police said the teenager, of Charlton, south-east London, was reportedly seen arguing with three men on mopeds in Armitage Road before the attack.

Officers were called to the road at 9.25pm to reports of a disturbance, and residents said they heard screaming and shouting before the police arrived.

A woman who was at her grandson’s birthday party said her granddaughter gave the victim CPR, but “she couldn’t bring him back”.

He was pronounced dead at the scene outside Collins House at around 10pm on Monday.

No arrests have been made.

DCI Leonard said: “Ethan was a young man who has been killed in very violent circumstances, leaving his family utterly bereft.

“We are still trying to piece together what happened that evening, and would urge anyone with information to contact as soon as possible. We are grateful for the community’s assistance so far.

“Several people reported seeing Ethan getting into an altercation with a number of males, in which he sustained his injuries.

“Two men made off from the scene on a motorbike – a rider and a pillion passenger. I need anyone who may have information that could assist us to make contact as quickly as possible.

“We cannot and will not abide by the use of firearms on London’s streets, and it is important that we identify the people involved in this murder.”
