The historic ruins at Rievaulx Abbey in North Yorkshire are to be lit up in an array of colours for a three-day art installation this weekend.

The Illuminating Rievaulx event will see the former Cistercian monastery bathed in light, while visitors can also experience Halo, an interactive sound and light installation that responds to touch, organisers English Heritage said.
