“The Queen” has welcomed the arrival of her sixth great-grandchild by arriving at the hospital in a quintessentially British black cab.

The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to the baby boy at 11.01am on Monday and later that day the vehicle drove past the Lindo wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London.

Inside though was a waxwork which brought much amusement to the gathered fans outside waiting for their first glimpse of the new prince.

From there, the new prince and his parents headed to Kensington Palace to meet the real monarch.
