A man has been charged with murder over the death of a 49-year-old man in south-east London, police said.

Nicholas Foye, 38, of Barmeston Road, Lewisham, was arrested in connection with the incident in Eltham on Friday August 11.

The victim, who is thought to have been stabbed to death, has yet to be formally identified. A post-mortem examination will take place.

Murder detectives are still attempting to trace a woman, thought to have “vital evidence” which could assist the investigation.

Foye was tasered during the initial police callout. He was taken to hospital for treatment, including for a foot injury.

He was later remanded in custody, where he remains, and is due to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday August 16.
